Sažetak
GIS is a complex software tool that can be applied to many types of problem and therefore interest in GIS is expanding rapidly. There are different areas in business where GIS applications are already in use like decision support systems, marketing, economic and marketing research, operations research or real estate management. That is the reason to make efforts to introduce GIS in education of students of economics. The article deals with some aspects of the problem of GIS beeing introduced in education. The problem is not only financial, because the new GIS applications run on PC-s, and there are some products that are either low cost or even available as freeware on Internet. Some potential student projects are proposed.
