Sažetak
It has been exactly two decades since a group of nations from the region and beyond came together with the common understanding that the lasting peace can be attained only if mutual trust and understanding in South East Europe is achieved. With this in mind they established RACVIAC and made the very idea of dialogue and cooperation on security matters the core mission of the Centre, to be pursued through a partnership between the countries of the region and their international partners. Over the years, the Centre has managed to be a meaningful contributor to coherence and respect, security reform solutions and confidence and security building. It has augmented its interaction with other organizations and institutions in the region and beyond, developed fruitful interaction with members of the academia, and maintained continuous dialogue with the civil society and the general public. The diversity of events that we organize as well as other venues of interaction in the Centre, make RACVIAC the leading platform for regional security cooperation and networking, which not only needs to be sustained with the same dedication and professionalism but also constantly improved and tailored to the needs of RACVIAC respective Members, the SEE countries that with their firm dedication have supported and continue to support its endeavors. It is our obligation now to maintain what has been achieved as well as to contribute with scientific and professional contribution in the field of security studies and through activities and programs to the responses and adaptation of international organizations to the character of modern and conventional threats.
