Sažetak
In extruded aluminum section longitudinal and transverse welds can be developed. They are a product of solid state bonding process that occurs within the extrusion die. Longitudinal welds re always present in sections made by means of hollow dies. Transverse welds can be present both in hollow and solid sections. Aluminum sections having joints of required quality can be manufactured if, beside other factors, a minimal extrusion pressur and appropriate temperature within the die is assure. This paper deals with the analysis of the shape and quality of both types of welds in extrusion of hollow sections. Special attention is paid in analysis of the condition required for joining process within the dies. In experimental part of the work same case studies are shown. Investigations were conducted on extrusion of sections from AlMgSi0.5 (6000) and AlCuMg2 (2000) aluminum alloys in real plant conditions. For extrusion of hollow sections Bridge and Porthole dies were used. The results of the investigation could be useful for the industrial application.
