Sažetak
In this talk we plan to give a short overview of the research topic of the topological insulators and present our recent work in this field. The topological insulators are materials with insulating (semiconducting) bulk states and metallic surface states originating from the topological nature of the bulk wave functions. The surface states are described by the equation equivalent to the Dirac equation for the massless particles creating an interesting platform for testing the high- energy concepts in solid-state physics. We shall present methods of growing the single crystals of topological insulators, measurements of the surface states by the angle-resolved-photoemission spectroscopy, and transport measurements under the high magnetic field. The emphasis will be put on surface states of topological insulator BiSbTe2S, and strong quantum oscillations under magnetic field detected in this material.
