Sažetak
For a long time, the Dinarides drew attention to themselves not just because of natural beauty but the exploiting natural resources, as well. More than 50 years INA d.d. has been conducting hydrocarbon exploration activities. Although numerous surface indicators (oil seeps) indicate active petroleum system, complex geological setting does not allow simple, easy and cheap exploration approach. Modern world experiences have confirmed economic HC reserves in highly deformed terrains of the fold-thrust belts such as the DInarides. That fact was the trigger for final return to exploration activities in Dinarides. Given that no previous local structural- tectonic concept has succeeded in imposing itself as a primary, during preliminary exploration work in 2020, a new concept of the rotation blocks formed by disintegration of the former „Lapac“ anticline has been developed. Disintegration was initiated by reactivation of Una fault during the Oligo-Mocene time. The moving of the rotation blocks is supported by Perm-Triassic evaporate beds that act as sliding surface and seal as well. Sub-thrust system traps could be charged by the hydrocarbons in the first place originated from the best source rocks of Upper Jurassic „Lemeš“ facies, the best source rocks in Dinarides. Such geological setting has focused exploration activities with an integrated approach as the basis of modern hydrocarbon exploration.
