Sažetak
The Northern Iberians. Life, death and rituals beyond the Pyrenees exhibition was part of the ArCAFE (Archéologie et Cultures de l’Âge du Fer en Europe) project. This project was financed by the European Union and coordinated by the Centre National de Recherches Scientifiques (CNRS), with the participation of the Archaeological Museum of Zagreb, the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya (MAC), especially its Ullastret branch, and the Site archéologique La‹ara - Musée Henri Prades. It was designed to show the Western and Central Mediterranean through their respective protohistoric situations. ArCAFE gave rise to two notable exhibitions: one on the Iapydes and the other on the Iberians of the north. This edition is the English version of the Iberians exhibition catalogue. The Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya undertook the huge task of assembling more than 200 objects representative of that culture and society. They were drawn from di•erent Catalan museums, as can be seen in the explanatory part of the catalogue. This was undoubtedly the most comprehensive and extensive collection ever assembled on the northern Iberians. For us it was important that it should be so, in order to a‹ract international recognition, and to fully meet this challenge, it was essential to publish the catalogue in English.
