Sažetak
Psychofarmacs are drugs that have the greatest effect on the mental functions, behavior and perception of patients. In other words those are chemical substances that in a certain and adjusted dose affect the mental life and state of patients. Antipsychotics are divided into typical, i.e. classical or first-generation antipsychotics that act as D2 receptor antagonists ; and atypical, i.e. second-generation antipsychotics, which in addition to their dopamine receptor antagonistic effect, also have one towards serotonin receptors. Establishing a diagnosis of mental illness is based on a description of the patient's subjective experience and observed behavior by clinicians or loved ones. This paper provides an overview of reported suspected side effects received by HALMED from January 1, 1993 to March 15, 2020. A total od 2, 399 reports were analysed by age and gender of patients, active substances, system organ classes (SOC), most commonly reported adverse reactions (PT), severity and years. The highest number of reports came from patients aged between 18 and 44 (41, 0%) and female patients (51, 9%). The highest number of reports was received for the active substance risperidone (23, 0%) and for the SOC Nervous system disorders (38, 9%). The most commonly reported adverse reactions were suicide attempt (14, 5%), drowsiness (12, 9%) and intentional overdose (11, 2%). 52, 7% of reports were assesed as serious. Majority of cases are classified as serious according to the criteria “other medically important conditions”. The highest number of reports was received in 2017 (11, 3%) and 2018 (11, 1%). Spontaneous reporting of adverse events improves monitoring of safety drug use.
