This chapter aims to set out the main concepts, approaches, and debates arising both in the academic field and amongst practitioners. The goals, principles, and instruments of forensic assessment and juvenile forensic assessment are the focal point of the chapter and the main theoretical paradigms, such as the Risk-Need- Responsivity Model (RNR) and the Good Lives Model (GLM), are presented and analysed.
