Sažetak
This paper discusses the fan project of Futsal Dinamo as an alternative club to GNK Dinamo from Zagreb, Croatia. The struggle for Dinamo is interpreted as a fight for the club's democratization, which is the fight for returning football to a state when clubs are still the connective tissue of the local community, the expression of its identity and a cultural phenomenon whose emotional strength is more important than its economic benefits. By setting up their "club", fans of Dinamo, Bad Blue Boys, sent a ‘message’ to the governing structures of GNK Dinamo, but also they managed to act proactively organizing the club from the youngest categories up to the first team. As an amateur club Futsal Dinamo has started it’s path from the lowest league all the way to becoming one of top 3 clubs in Croatian Fulsal League.. Along with the advancement of the results, the club has become increasingly "professionalized" regarding players and administrative level. Beside that club plays an important role in the upkeep of new the generation of its members and fans. Using ethnographic method, this paper presents a holistic approach to description and explanation of Futsal Dinamo phenomena, while conducted semi-structured interviews with club members and provide a framework for insight into specific motivations of individuals within the process of setting up their own member- based club. Futsal Dinamo positioned itself in the context of sports in Zagreb as the place of a different model of decision-making and management, and thus a different approach to club members who attend and participate in club-related activities.
