Sažetak
One of the major problems of our Western cultural context is that we forgot what does it mean to really see, listen, touch, taste and so on. It looks like that we are in our own experience and understanding being overshadowed by some kind of forgetfull distraction. We have no time to look at others, to look at nature and, finaly, to see what are the inteligible foundations of everything and every one of us. With his films, russian director Andrei Tarkovsky is questioning the currents of contemporary Western culture by a certain method he uses in his films. Fully aware of this decresed possibility to go deeper into reality, into the foundations of life itself, Tarkovsky is using captivated images of nature, art and peoples faces and destinies. By his images and sounds, he is calling and attracting the viewer deeper into his own life, into his own experiences by touching him in a profound, integral level (his heart and his mind) so when he leaves the theater, he is somehow changed, different, touched, not the same any more. He has started to see and to interpret reality differently then he did before.
