Sažetak
Big data, that is “large data sets”, have become more and more available in recent years and are applied in a vast number of industries. In law enforcement, there are numerous ways of collecting and processing such data that may improve and even fully replace the existing methods of analysis and the entire work process. Owing to the big data technology, which allows for collecting and processing of large volumes of both structured and unstructured data, among other things, it is now possible to better predict and prevent crime as well as other forms of potentially dangerous social behaviour. Likewise, technology has also made it possible to detect potential terrorist threats at an early stage.
