Sažetak
Cultural heritage is more than just a collection of material and immaterial goods on certain place. It is cultural identity of the nation, its history and tradition, its past and future, its ancestors and descendants … Actually, it is the nation itself. Because of that, adequate preservation, protection, valorization and promotion of cultural heritage is extremely important especially in the era of globalisation in which global dominates over national/local. In that sense, bridges as well as some other architectural works may and must be used as factors of differentiation of tourist offer and its competitive advantage on international tourist market. In order to use all benefits of these architectural works for tourist valorisation, it is necessary to consider bridges not only as object made of stone, steel etc., but as the objects which are very important from many different points of view- such as historical, cultural, artistic, etc. Only considering all these aspects, this important segment of cultural heritage may be adequately preserved, protected, valorized and promoted. Montenegro is full of beautiful bridges that have a huge potential for tourist valorization. Some of them are famous because of their architecture, some because of legends and fairytales connected with their construction, some of them have huge importance from historical or cultural point of view, while some are interesting because of picturesque idyllic sceneries of their surroundings. Although there are some interesting examples of valorization of bridges all around the world we are strongly convinced that Montenegro should create completely new concept which will be based on the implementation of modern ICT technologies. In that way the bridges would bridge past and future, traditional and modern, local and global. This book provides overview of the most important bridges in Montenegro as well as the most important data about their history, construction, architecture, legends and myths from the past, sceneries etc. But, this book also contains different ideas for valorization of Montenegrin bridges through implementation of ICT technologies which may significantly contribute to the process of putting bridges in wider cultural, historical and artist context and their adequate valorization and promotion on global tourist market.
