Sažetak
The Scordisci belong, according to the analysis of items of female costume and jewellery, to a wider setting of the La Tène Culture in the Carpathian Basin, that is, to the Eastern Celts. Because the Scordisci were settled in the southeastern part of the Carpathian Basin, in contacts with different indigenous communities, they developed a distinct material culture, although they shared many similarities with other neighbouring communities. The identity of the Scordisci, after all, defines characteristic forms which could be created only in workshops located on their territory. The mentioned forms include Dalj-type iron belts with unique shapes of buckles or bronze belts composed of lyreshaped segments, especially astragal belts, which originated within local indigenous material culture. Also, specific variants of bronze fibulae with pseudofiligree decoration bear witness to a common decorative concept of the Eastern Celts, which was spread to the northern parts of the Carpathian Basin only by the intervention of the Scordisci. So, the most important tasks for future investigations of the Middle La Tène female costume and jewellery of the Scordisci will be to discover more closed grave assemblages, which would bear witness to the creativity of their specific visual code and identity, whose peak was reached during the Late La Tène.
