Sažetak
This paper focuses on the importance and recognition of dual career in sports. Dual career policies could be useful and helpful for student athletes, helping their integration from a professional sport career, with a successfully finalized education background, to their “after sport” career. An indicative mini- study with questionnaire was conducted among athletes, sport organizations and educational institutions. The research found a strong evidence of need among athletes for counseling and dual career assistance, as well as the recognition of dual career importance from the side of sport organizations and educational institutions. The Croatian National Sports Program (2019-2026) was analyzed as the first strategic document for sport at the national level, including 6 general, 19 specific objectives, with 63 measures and 148 activities involved and measured.
