Sažetak
Digital transformation is a change that has emerged with digital technology in all aspects of human society, and the world is facing a new revolution. Nowadays there is no company immune to changes in the sphere of technology that should not think about digital transformation. Artificial intelligence is considered the most important technology in the history. Intelligent manufacturing implies the digitization of the industrial sector by convergence of machine learning, artificial intelligence, automated production and communication. By introducing automation and new technologies in production profits increase significantly. Machine learning algorithms apply computer methods in a way that "learns" directly from the data. Algorithms are advancing as the number of learning patterns increases. They are already being applied, on daily base, to make key decisions in medical diagnosis, forecasting energy consumption and production. The Internet of Things is the foundation of the new Industry 4.0 revolution. IoT connects machines and processes to optimize production. A large number of sensors collects, process and exchange information from production lines enabling production processes to be improved. The sale envisions a significant increase in the use of analytical tools and artificial intelligence to better recognize customer’s needs. Integrated technology enables the workforce to deal with more complex tasks. Companies apply advanced analytics to analyze business data from a large amount of unstructured data. This information can be used to improve the production process for faster decision making in business processes. There are four main areas where digitalisation changes the industry: new products, business model, customer focus, and business processes. Digital transformation is here and cannot be ignored. The opportunity is huge and it provides clear competitive advantage to chemical engineers and chemical industry
