Sažetak
This chapter provides an overview of judicial discipline in Croatian law. It elaborates on whether and how the process of Europeanization impacted judicial regulation in Croatia. Special attention is given to substantive provisions regarding discipline procedures against judges with an emphasis on the transparency and impartiality of such proceedings. The chapter also focuses on right to defence granted to judges in disciplinary proceedings. Lastly, the chapter analyzes a famous case decided before the European Court of Human Right involving an ex-President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia who was dismissed from the position of the Supreme Court Judge in disciplinary proceedings and who claimed that in this process his right to a fair trial granted by the Article 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms had been violated.
