Sažetak
For more than 3 decades, you have used various aspects of robotics in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders (PSA), especially humanoid robots that look like human beings with their phenotypic characteristics, although their form of communication is much simpler. Since one of the basic difficulties of children with PSA is precisely the ability to communicate and interact with others or the environment, the realization of communication with robots has proven to be useful as a therapeutic technique. Namely, several studies have confirmed the positive effect of robots in the therapy of children with PSA, especially in teaching communication and social skills (Ferrari et al., 2009 ; Kozima, et al., 2007 ; Costa et al., 2010). That is why robots are increasingly used in the therapy and rehabilitation of children with PSA in some countries, and humanoid robotics is constantly evolving. This paper aims to offer an overview of the current use of the most important humanoid robots in the treatment of children with PSA as well as their use in the Republic of Croatia and to present the basic characteristics of humanoid robots and their role in the treatment of children with PSA.
