Sažetak
Systems such as computers, spreadsheet tools, numerically controlled (NC) machine tools, NC programming languages (APT), post processors, parametric programming, etc., have been all around for decades. Tools for modelling the physics of complex engineering devices and for simulation of their behaviour are widely available. In the paper suggests a useful way of looking at the problem of information modelling. Mathematical models, that is, replace the objects in the real world by a series of abstract mappings defined in the appropriate domains of mathematics. The transformation labelled "representation schema" in the paper takes the functional models and produces mathematically defined "symbol structures", for example, character strings, attributes, etc. In the paper shell be explained a four-tier approach to information modelling.
