Sažetak
In Croatian architecture two opposed traditions of modernity - the cultural avant-garde and the instrumental modernization - coexisted and were in some cases hybridized in coherent architectural results. Avant-garde fuelled modernization processes with the visionary horizon, while the modernisation provided testing ground for concepts originating from avant-garde investigations.
