Sažetak
Studies of transformational leadership in hospitality industry have gone largely unexamined. This research attempts to capture the importance of transformational leadership traits for hotel businesses operating in the VUCA environment. Transformational leaders can better understand and facilitate responsible tourism development, foster and promote transformational tourism as a contemporary phenomenon. The purpose was to detect: (1) which transformational leadership skills hotel managers value as most important for leading a hotel in the VUCA environment ; (2) which leadership style they apply most and (3) do hotel managers foster transformational tourism? Research results indicate the relevance of transformational leadership skills in hospitality industry. The results revealed that hotel managers recognized the importance of transformational leadership traits but do not fully implement transformational leadership in practice.
