Sažetak
Relations of reciprocity is an audio-visual installation reflecting on the variable experiences of several generations of women in my family. The installation is a collection of sixteen portrait images made of digital prints layered with dense drawing interventions with edited audio material based on fragments of conversations. The work questions the notion of identity as stable and fixed category, presenting portraits as vague, multidimensional and ever incomplete. Displaying intimate and interrelated feminine realities in the public space of a gallery, the work emphasizes the impact of wider socio-economic frames on an individual’s opportunities.
