Sažetak
Graduate thesis presents development and purpose of chain saws and their constructional parameters. Based on results of present research, factors affecting the cutting forces that occur during the operation of the chain saw had been analyzed. Force values of chain saw cutting tool in full-scale size were measured by laboratory tests preformed by linear stone cutting machine, for five samples with different physical-mechanical properties. Tests were carried out for the positive and negative rake angle of the cutting tool at different cutting depths. The dependence of horizontal and vertical cutting forces on the CERCHAR abrasivity index (CAI) were determined by statistical data analysis. Dependence of CAI on compressive strength, tensile strength, hardness, and fracture toughness was also established.
