Sažetak
Gastronomy in most small family hotels in Croatia is still a part of the tourist offer, though it has all the prerequisites to become its main part, especially given the personalized approach offered by this type of tourist-catering facilities. However, the Croatian tourist offer has been turning to gastronomy for the last few years and this trend continues. The focus today is primarily on traditional local and indigenous cuisine. The growth in demand for this type of tourist offer favors the world's tourist and food trends. As far as tourism is concerned, tourists are increasingly looking for new experiences, gastronomy is increasingly important, personalized access is increasingly appreciated, etc. Food trends are also changing, and tourists (as well as consumers in general) are increasingly turning to healthy food , ecologically-grown foods, ethical nutrition, and so on. Taking into account all these opportunities and the financial support from EU funds and many new possibilities of modern promotional tools, primarily those related to the Internet, which are characterized by simplicity, low cost, wide availability and speed, small family hotels in Croatia can raise the level of the quality gastronomic offer considerably and thus enhance their business.
