Sažetak
Digital innovation is becoming one of the most important indicators and key factors in the “game” of achieving competitive advantage. Innovation, innovation activities and digital innovation will be defined and stated as in the new Oslo manual edition (2018). Innovation and digital innovation activities are becoming the crucial activities in the process of gaining sustainable competitive advantage among companies, but also national economies. In the paper the author will focus on innovation but also on digital innovation indicators for the European Union countries, researching, analysing, deducting and investigating Digital Innovation City Index (DICI), European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), Global Innovation Index (GII), and World Digital Competitiveness Index (WDCI). The aim of this paper is to analyse the European Union digital innovation activities but also to create a frame for comparing it to the World’s digital innovation activities. Therefore, the paper found a strong correlation between innovation activities, digital innovation, and national competitiveness in both, European Union, and other World’s countries.
