Sažetak
Sudden cracking of C-Mn-V tubing that occured in service medium of one 3000 m deep oil well was analysed. To clarify the nature of the crack, samples of failed tubing were studied by methods giving explanation of possible corrosion mechanism. X-ray diffraction, X-ray emission spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy, as well as tensocorrosion experiments on a laboratory scale were performed in order to asses the sensitivity of steel to environment induced stress corrosion cracking. Based on the results obtained it was concluded that failure of tubing was predominantly influenced by corrosion reaction in environment where hydrogen is generated.
