Sažetak
Goal of this investigation was to develop a simple method for the positive identification of cocaine in street samples. Basic components of these powders are talc, gypsum and some other substances frequently used as additives, such as local anaesthetics benzocaine, cinchocaine, lidocaine and procaine, and the antithusic codeine. They can interfere with the detection of cocaine. Abrasive stripping voltammetry can be applied for the direct identification of powders of sparingly soluble pharmacologically important compounds. The method consists of a mechanical transfer of microparticles of the powder to be analyzed onto the graphite electrode surface followed by the electrochemical analysis using staircase cycling, or square-wave voltammetry.
