Sažetak
Pearson's correlation coefficient is often used for measuring association between two distance matrices. While it does provide a measure of association, assumptions of standard statistical tests are not met. Quadratic assignment is a permutational test that uses distribution of Pearson's coefficients under random permutations of rows and columns of one distance matrix for testing the hypothesis of no association between the matrices.
