Sažetak
In design process, there is no design solution that is the best solution. Therefore, the design process often aims to achieve a design solution that is optimal. Such a solution is possible to obtain by applying a various numerical optimization methods. Using these methods, it is necessary to define a objective function, a set of independent variables and constraints that describe the objective function and the constraint function. In this paper is presented the optimization process using the Response Surface Method (RSM). The objective function was to achieve a reduction in the mass of the structure with the limits determined by the allowable stresses and displacements in the structure. Optimization was performed on the design elements of the tractor forklift. The Response Surfaces Method reduced the total mass of the structure by 24.25%.
