Sažetak
This work investigated the efficacy of some ecologically acceptable insecticides against the wheat weevil (Sitophilus granarius (Linnaeus, 1758)), an important storage pest. Azadirachtin, spinosad and diatomaceous earth were tested, while cypermethrin served as a standard insecticide and water as control. The experiment was performed in laboratory conditions, testing each insecticide applied to wheat grain in three different doses. A total of 13 variants were set up in four repetitions. In each repetition, 10 adult wheat weevils were added. The mortality of weevils was determined every 24 hours during five days. Azadiractin, diatomaceous earth, and spinosad showed high efficacy (84.28%-100.00%) 96 hours after treatment, which did not differ significantly from efficacy of cypermethrin. This work showed that these ecologically friendly insecticides have great potential in wheat weevil control on stored wheat.
