Sažetak
The topic of tha paper is a critical and comparative analysis of the exhibition as a medium on examples of art exhibitions and design exhibitions, SFRY performances at major international exhibitions (Venice Biennale, World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958) during the Cold War, to contemporary examples questioning art production from the post- socialist perspective. The starting point is to determine the role of exhibitions, ie institutions such as museums and galleries and curatorial practices in the process of mediatization the relationship between art and ideology. Applying the methodological apparatus of cultural studies, fundamental aspects and changes in representational discourses are analyzed, with focus on interpreting the role of exhibitions in constructing and reconstructing collective memory, and the share of popular culture in the "commodification" of cultural identity.
