Sažetak
The paper explores the entanglements between architecture pedagogy and political protest following student movement in Yugoslavia 1968. In response to this, it focuses on the context of political and cultural factors determining pedagogic changes as part of a general movement to humanize the society of the sixties. The thematic framework are the transfers operated by architects who travelled to or received their education in the United States or Western Europe, particularly France, the specificities of reform process representing the implementation procedures, scientific and theoretical aspirations within the field. With an aim to provide a meta-perspective on the attempts to humanise the architectural profession, the paper analyses case studies representing the institutional and alternative models of educational reforms. Characteristic examples are: New School of Architecture in Belgrade (1971-1973), student centres and youth press as symptoms of counterculture and Praxis journal with Korčula Summer School as a New Left hotspot for cultural exchange. By exploring the context of debates, networks and critiques, the aim is to clarify the changes which occurred in the political, economic and cultural structure of societal modernisation and to examine the shifts of meaning(s) and cultural values.
