Sažetak
This paper deals with the viewpoint that carrying ouot a strategy of economic development for Croatia on the threshold of the 21 st century should proceed only after appropriate hypotheses have been created: above all, programmed, analytical, institutional and systemic (economic policies). The paper also refers to the need to integrate work on current policies and long-term strategy i.e. to discontinue working practices on two, practically separate, tracks and thus remove existing and possible misunderstanding and conflicts which have recently been surfacing more and more.
