Sažetak
The media control of information, as well as the inaccessability ofopportunity in the educational system and skill aquisition within the matrix ofthe neoliberal capitalism, which leads to converting people into passiveobservers. Given that political power is in the hands of the ruling minority, theproblem of an equitable social redistribution arises. Art as an activity, Ranciereargues, can affect a more equitable social distribution and become a powerfulinstrument in the hands of those who want a new ethical order. The field ofbattle is unquestionably of political nature, and therefore requires theconsideration of a wider context. The artist Andreja Kulunčić deals precisely with these subjects, searching for an alternative to the existing hegemonic social model in a socialist legacy andthe concepts of self-management and direct democracy. Her art projects arecollaborative social experiments creating a platform through which the exchangeof experiences and self- organisational skills is enabled. Art / Political strategiesemployed are important with regard to encouraging citizens to assumeresponsibility in sociopolitical processes. Through her work, Andreja Kulunčić deconstructs the liberal democracy myth as the space of pluralistic harmony and consensus, at the same timedisclosing the hegemonic system which generates permanent inequality. Thecurrent crises (Greece, Spain) as well as resistance movements all around theworld (Occupy movement, the Indignados) can be viewed as the twilight of anoutdated, unfair system. On the other hand, however, we are witness to itsresilience and great absorption and transformational capabilities. If we agreewith Heraclitus saying one cannot step into the same river twice, it remains to beseen how values from one sociohistorical context can be relevant today, and ifvalues, concepts and strategies of a socialist legacy can mobilise the communitythus creating preconditions for a transformation or, eventually, a renaissance.
