Sažetak
New museums practice could be easily tracked to the early 1970s and the eco-museums movement which is quite a revealing experience. We attempt to demonstrate how practices of eco-museums could be interlinked with contemporary demands, the need for participative and inclusive interpretation and sustainable management approaches/practices. Finally, the paper will point toward the need for socially responsible heritage/museum management which could indeed be recognised as a demand for a heritage literacy and as a model to mitigate diverse interests. All aforementioned will return us to the starting remarks, more precise overarching idea of the presentation and toward concluding remarks focused on what kind of knowledge, skills and attitudes (competencies) today and future museum/heritage professionals needs to have to perform their work successfully.
