Sažetak
He new European transportation corridor E661 Hungary (Balatonkeresztur) – Croatia (Virovitica – Stara Gradiška) – Bosnia and Hercegovina (Gradiška) is currently under construction. The highway crosses the Sava River over a new border bridge which will be positioned upstream from the town of Gradiška. Seven alternative solutions of the bridge crossing were analysed. The chosen bridge solution comprises continuous steel box girder with orthotropic deck plate across three spans 128 + 170 + 128 m (L=426 m). The bridge width is 22.6 m. The superstructure cross section is a variable depth box girder (4.5 m to 7.5 m) with inclined webs. The superstructure is elastically supported by elastomeric bearings to allow for better earthquake behaviour. The foundation soil is strengthened by jet grouting. The design of the bridge is completed, and a public competition for choosing the Contractor is underway.
