Sažetak
The Academic libraries often use bibliometric analysis for the library’s collection development, but also for providing their users, the scientists, with information which journal is the best, for them, to publish their scientific paper. In spite of its universal nature, the research of the Arts and Humanities is often of national character and in the mother tongue. That is why for Croatian Arts and Humanities scientists it is important to know the ranking of Croatian Arts and Humanities journals. World ranking of journals per all scientific categories according to the number of documents and H index shows positioning of Croatian Arts and Humanities journals that is similar or sometimes better then positioning of the Croatian journals in other scientific categories. Furthermore, in comparison with Croatian Medicine or Social sciences journals Croatian Arts and Humanities journals in average have small values of H index, SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) and the number of citations. However, on the ranking of Arts and Humanities journals in Eastern Europe, Croatian journals are ranked high according to the number of documents, H index and the number of citations. The research has shown that, although Croatian Arts and Humanities journals have low H index in average, their current standings in the rankings in the world are sometimes better than those of the other Croatian scientific journals.
