The chapter deals with Barth's engagement of Roman Catholicism, which takes place in the context of his quies for a way out of Protestant theology's identity crisis, vis-à- vis Protestantism, liberalism, or Neo- Protestantism. Barth considers Roman Catholicism an important dialogue partner on the way to recovering Protestant theology’s identity.
