Sažetak
In the paper the organisation of the institutional care for abandoned children in early modern Dubrovnik (Ragusa) is examined. On the basis of the accounting records of the Hospitale misericordiae, parish registers, Criminal Court records and other sources the circumstances surrounding the lives of the hospital's wards are explored.
