Sažetak
MATURATION OF ASCOSPORES OF VENTURIA INAEQUALIS IN LEAVES OF SOME APPLE CULTIVARS - Apple scab caused by Venturia inaequalis (Cke) Wint is most important disease of apple in our country. After the fall of infected leaves the saprophytic development of the fungus begins into the mezophyll where it soon forms a network of dark brown hyphae on wich the perithecia developed. Perithecia are produced in this leaves during winter-spring period. Mature ascospores are the primary source of inoculum for the scab disease each year. Control measures for scab rely on fungicide sprays during period of ascospores production. Therefore, following the maturation and delivery of ascospores is very important for the protection program. In order to follow perithecia appearance and the maturation of ascospores in leaves we collected them from few apple cultivars (Golden Delicious, Idared, Jonagold, Stayman) in the same orchard, and left them to overwinter under natural condition. From March 15th we watched the appearance of peritecia and maturation of asci in them. We observed that perithecia in the laves of different cultivars did not mature in the same time. The same experiments showed that same cultivars have a shorter period of ascospore discharge.
