Sažetak
The article considers paralles and diferrences between art theory of the Neo-Avant-Garde art practices of the New Tendencies and the Praxis group, in relation to different Marxist approaches to art in Yugoslavia. It has been argued that their approaches to art and art history were radically different, even though the role Praxis philosophers attributed to philosophy in the socialist society is an equivalent role that progressive art theoreticians (in this case Matko Meštrović) ascribed to art.
