Sažetak
The Lexicographic Heritage in Croatia is very long as the form of a lexicographic unit. The paper deals with the monolingual, bilingual and multilingual Croatian dictionaries which have shown, throughout history (from the 15th century to the present day), a different attitude towards proverbs as linguistic forms. Considering the diachronic context and the diverse material, the paremiological material changes as well as access to the lexicographic description of the lexem. It is therefore interesting to follow proverbs and paremiological forms with regard to structure, type of proverbial expressions, lexical- grammatical changes, substitution of sentence parts, and change of meanings. As the Lexicographic Unit changes, so does the approach to proverbs in dictionaries.
