Sažetak
Investigating the air pollution influence on plant anatomy, the content of elements in needles of damaged fir trees (Abies alba Mill.) was measured. The measuring of elemental weight percent was done on adaxial needle surface by EDAX and SEM. The cytogenetical analysis was carried out to detect anomalies in meiosis and mitosis. Sampling was done in May, July and September 1999 and 2000 at "Risnjak" and Donja Dobra (control population). Significant higher values of chromium and zinc, in current year needles, and of potassium, chromium, manganum, cobalt and copper, in previous year ones, was found at "Risnjak". In the most cells, the regular chromosome pairing in pachytene, and normal chromosome segregation was observed. In metaphase I one lagging bivalent was observed. In metaphase I one lagging bivalent was observed in the control cells (2.7%), but their nubmer increased in cells from damaged trees (4.0-6.4%). Anaphase bridges and fragments found in anaphase/telophase I suggest the paracentric inversions. In mitosis only the low number of anaphase bridges was found.
