Sažetak
The introduction to the book explores discussions on the ambiguous proximity between performing arts and politics are nothing new in itself, starting from Athenian democracy within which Hannah Arendt diagnosed that “performing arts have indeed a strong affinity with politics” (Arendt, 1998) due to the performative mechanisms of political practice and the politicality of artistic performances. Nowadays, in this complex moment of history marked by health, environmental, social and economic crises, perceptions of the role of performing arts are yet again transforming and facing challenges.
