Sažetak
For the purpose of making such a specific planning discipline implementabile, it is necessary to organise it at three levels: the national, county and municipal level. Susc a planning approach to rural space and village renewal is imposed in Croatia also by European integrations. In order to present rural space and villages in Croatia as clearly as possible, the main spatial characteristics of Croatia, as well as the at present failed attempt to organise two pilot projects, Krašić und Mačkovac, have been described in this paper.
