Sažetak
The Intelligent Transport Systems are a novel solution for the provision of safe, optimised, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly transport of people and goods to citizens. ITS successfully integrates modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with situation awareness. Satellite navigation systems provide unprecedented position estimation performance essential for ITS, thus acting as a fundamental framework for ITS developments. The essence of ITS lies in the development of the common-sense-driven and evidence-based ITS-based services with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). Determination of the appropriate QoS requirements is essential for both ITS-based services development and deployment. The lack of ITS QoS has been caused by direct deployment of GNSS, without the proper assessment of the actual QoS requirements and their relations to GNSS positioning performance. Here we propose the Segmented GNSS Utilisation as a novel approach in the GNSS utilisation for the ITS-based services, which allows for proper QoS requirements definition and successful mitigation of the inherent and externally-caused core GNSS vulnerabilities.
