Sažetak
The concept of urban renovation is based on redevelopment of the built structure and on the principles and goals of ecological planning and environemntal protection. It is necessary to retain identity and the recognizable silhoutte of the town centre keeping it relatively low with few prominent points. It is necessary to prevent a type of reconstrruction of certain town areas in inapropriate relations, which obstruct a higher quality city design. The key factorfor for a successful city renewal project is the continuity and implementation of projects significant for the develoipment of local community, together with the efforts of the real estate owners and ifluential people that will support prposed porjects. Implementation of the principles of urban redevlopment is presented by this scientific research of the city of Osijek in the Republic of Croatia.
