Sažetak
Ernst Cassirer believed that, because of the Platonic idea of mimēsis, “all systematic aesthetics that have ever appeared in the history of philosophy have been and remain Platonism.” In this essay, the author explores Cassirer’s assertion with respect to Plotinus’s concept of art, as articulated in the idea of “inner form” (τὸ ἔνδον εἶδος ; cf. En. I. 6. 3, 9) found in the consciousness of the artist (τὸ εἶδος... ἐν τῷ ἐννοήσαντι ; En. V. 8. 1, 17). In particular, the author considers Plotinus’s interpretation of Platonic mimēsis as a contribution to the philosophy of art.
