Sažetak
During the Middle Ages, great part of population of urban settlements of the Sava-Drava interamnium consisted of people settling there from other areas. Because of that, the role newcomers played in the everyday life of these settlements and forming of their societies was considerable, and presence of great number of immigrants essentially determined character of settlements in the interamnium. In the paper, through the analysis of both legal norms and judicial practice, the author tried to demonstrate what was the attitude of the community towards newcomers, in which way they were included into the life of the urban community, which were conditions to be fulfilled for gaining citizenship. The paper also tried to define what was the difference between newcomers and foreigners.
