Sažetak
In order to accomplish effective treatment of forensic patients, an interdisciplinary approach has been applied at the University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče. This was conducted in cooperation with psychiatrists and a range of other professions: psychologists, social workers, social pedagogues, medical technicians and nurses, occupational therapists, and all other non-medical workers that contribute to the treatment and recovery of forensic patients. a psychologist, social worker, and social pedagogue are involved in the individual and group treatment of inpatients and outpatients. Depending on the profession, activities are focused on diagnostic procedures, psychological counselling, social worker counselling, enhancement of social and communication skills, sociotherapy, and psychotherapy. individual counselling, sociotherapy, and support group sessions have been conducted in the inpatient setting, while the most common type of outpatient activity is intermittent treatment. at the beginning of the treatment, this interdisciplinary approach is conducted on a weekly basis and consists of psychiatric examination, a support counselling group with psychologist, interventions by the social worker, and group psychotherapy with a social pedagogue. treatment frequency might be adapted due to the work and/or social functioning of the patient. since forensic patients in general require longer treatment, the possibilities of a interdisciplinary approach that reflects a combination of pharmacotherapy and various psychosocial interventions with this target group will be discussed.
