Sažetak
The article analyses the changing balance of strategic relevance of different influential actors in Southeast Europe, with particular focus on the European Union and Russian Federation, as well as influence of their policies on the process of post-socailist consolidation of countries in the region. It recognises the fact that loopholes in 'western policies' are used by others who extend their influence in the region and threaten to stall, if not entirely, block the process of further European integration.
